Family Birth Center
The Family Birth Center at Creighton University Medical Center (CUMC) is a place where the technology is advanced and the staff are highly skilled –– yet the setting is cozy and intimate. The first impression is one of warmth and comfort, and it’s our nurses who make your stay so pleasant. They have years of experience and are here to promote a safe and memorable birth. You and your baby are special, and you deserve the special treatment CUMC can give.

Our Labor and Delivery unit is designed to better accommodate our expectant mothers. CUMC offers an array of specialty services and educational opportunities to help you throughout your experience.
Labor and Delivery Services: • Perinatal Services (specialists in high-risk pregnancies) • 24-hour-a-day Physician and Resident on Duty • 24-hour-a-day Epidural Services • Lactation Specialists • Lactation Room • Room Service • Newborn Photos • Social Work Services • Infant Hearing Screenings • Infant Fetal Treatment (In Utero Therapy) • Midwife Services • 24-hour-a-day Interpreter Services • Sophisticated security system (for your child’s safety)
We also offer the Growing Expectations Program, which runs the entire length of your pregnancy. Through this program, you will receive educational materials, forms to speed up the registration process on your special day and a special gift with each checkup.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
CUMC’s newly designed Level III NICU is one of the most sophisticated NICUs in the area. Infants admitted to this unit receive highly specialized intensive care in an environment that strives for the best possible outcome. Nurses and physicians with special training in the care of premature or critically ill infants, as well as sophisticated NICU technology, are available around the clock to help your premature infant through any complications that might occur. The NICU is designed with your infant’s and family’s care and comfort in mind.
