CUMC Offers Incisionless Treatment Option for GERD

Incisionless Surgery for Chronic Heartburn

Creighton University Medical Center Offers EsophX TIF

Creighton University Medical Center now offers an incisionless procedure for the treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD).

Creighton physicians Sumeet Mittal, M.D., and Tommy Lee, M.D., are the only Nebraska physicians trained to offer the EsophyX TIF (transoral incisionless fundoplication) procedure.

TIF is the latest treatment for safely and effectively treating chronic acid reflux disease, also known as GERD. A completely incisionless procedure, EsophyX TIF reconstructs the antireflux barrier to provide a solution to the anatomical root cause of GERD. The procedure is for patients who are dissatisfied with current pharmaceutical therapies or are concerned about the long-term effects of daily use of reflux medications.

TIF is performed endoscopically using the EsophyX surgical device from EndoGastric Solutions.
