Esophageal Center - Leaders in SurgeryThe Esophageal Center has several generations of expert esophageal surgeons who have guided the esophageal program to continued success since the 1980s. These physicians have been the leaders of treating esophageal disorders and have trained hundreds of physicians internationally.
Our esophageal surgeons treat some of the most complex cases and are often called upon to perform “re-do” surgery for failed anti-reflux surgeries. In addition, our physicians perform the most esophageal procedures in the region.

PillCam-ESOCreighton University Medical Center was the first institution in Omaha to offer PillCam ESO, a camera-in-a-pill that allows doctors to evaluate and diagnose diseases of the esophagus – including GERD and Barrett's esophagus, a pre-cancerous condition.
Barrett's ClinicThe Barrett’s Clinic at Creighton University Medical Center offers careful, systematic follow-up of patients allowing the early detection of cancer and the cure of this disease. Patients are entered into a computerized database, which is used to schedule periodic endoscopy and follow-up consultations.
