The Esophageal Center is lead by Dr. Sumeet Mittal and Dr. Tommy Lee, two of the regions most respected esophageal specialists.

Sumeet Mittal, M.D., FACS Director, Esophageal Center, Assistant Professor of Surgery
Dr. Mittal received his medical degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi, India, and completed a clinical esophageal fellowship at the University of Southern California. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Mittal’s interests include benign and malignant disease of the esophagus and stomach, minimally invasive surgery, intensive care of post-operative patients and transoral surgery for reflux disease. He has performed more than 400 laparoscopic Nissen fundoplication procedures. Dr. Mittal is course director of the Annual Esophageal Conference sponsored by Creighton University School of Medicine.

Tommy H. Lee, M.D., F.R.C.S.C. Esophageal Center, Assistant Professor of Surgery
Dr. Lee received his medical degree from the Queen’s University School of Medicine in Kingston, Canada, and completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. He is a certified Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Lee’s interests include benign and malignant disease of the esophagus and stomach, and minimally invasive surgery. Along with Dr. Mittal, he is a course director of the Annual Esophageal Conference sponsored by Creighton University School of Medicine.
